Non-Nationals

1. Entry Visa

All visitors to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are required to be in possession of a valid passport for the intended period of their stay in addition to the following:

  • return ticket to the country of origin or other destination where there is 'landed' status;
  • sufficient funds for the duration of the visit;
  • evidence of accommodation arrangements for the period of stay.

 The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Immigration Authority will determine the length of stay. Most visitors (Non-Nationals) to St. Vincent and the Grenadines are not required to apply in advance for an Entry Visa, providing they satisfy immigration officials on arrival that they are a genuine visitor to the country.

However, persons from the following countries REQUIRE an entry visa prior to arrival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines:

  • Dominican Republic
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Jordan
  • Lebanon
  • Nigeria
  • People's Republic of China (PRC)
  • Syria

2. Residency

Available for Non-Nationals who wish to take up temporary or permanent residency and also for the grandchildren of persons born in St Vincent and the Grenadines (please see Nationals of St. Vincent and the Grenadines section, if the latter).


3. Work Permits

Medical students who have been chosen to undertake an elective at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital do not require a work permit or a letter from the High Commission. However they do require a letter of acceptance from the Hospital and will need to meet the requirements for entry to St Vincent and the Grenadines (please see Non-Nationals Entry Visa section).

7. Police Record

Persons who have resided in St. Vincent and the Grenadines can request for a copy of their police record.


8. Legalisation/Notarisation of Documents

The “legalisation” or “notarisation” of documents can only be performed in St Vincent and the Grenadines by either the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Registrar in the Court House.  If this is required you should arrange for this to be at the earliest opportunity while the document is in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

9. Getting Married in St Vincent and the Grenadines

Persons not usually resident can apply to be married in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. There are two types of marriage licenses (please see information below).  Tourists who wish to marry in St. Vincent and the Grenadines usually apply for the ‘Governor General’s Special Marriage License’.

Copies of marriage certificates are available by application.
